About Ken

 I  have been involved in the property and building industry for 30 years. My experience together with my personal knowledge of the market in Florida is an extremely valuable asset to have working for you in your search for a home or investment property.

MY BACKGROUND

After attending The University of New York majoring in Accounting I returned to the Jersey in the Channel Islands in the late 1970s to work for my uncle’s construction company and was directly involved on several major hotel refurbishments during this time. In 1982 I moved to Edinburgh and formed a business to buy and sell small apartments and flats in need of complete renovation including major structural work and continued this for 3 years , during this time I attended night college to pass a Oxford University degree in Surveying and Levelling. 

My developments included the purchase and refurbishment of an East Lothian hotel into 10 luxury apartments, the refurbishment of a 17th century stable into 2 luxury townhouses. The construction of 7 luxury townhomes in East Lothian. I also supplied fully refurbished Edinburgh New Town homes to one of Scotland’s largest property investment funds. My plan in all my projects was to select good quality properties that I felt would offer a good capitol value return over the coming years. One of my most interesting projects was the  purchase one of the oldest buildings in East Linton, East Lothian dating back before 1600, we  transformed the historic buildings into 2 cottages. This project was of  historic importance involving  Historic Scotland in the process.

On all of my projects I personally prepared all cash flow projections, I  liaised with lending institutions regarding borrowing fees and percentage rates on development funding , I was personally involved in every property sale with property viewing also insuring that my customers were satisfied with their new home purchase.

Over the past 10 years I have  focused on establishing his own portfolio, buying properties, renovating them and holding them as rental / investment properties in East Lothian, Edinburgh and Florida. In order to focus on the market in Florida and to take advantage of the weakening market my family and I moved there 4 years ago and have been directly involved with all the processes of the property market including building, acquisition, rental and management.

I live in Port St Lucie with my family. I am a fully Licensed Realtor in the State of Florida.

I am an Honorary Member of Craigielaw Golf Club Aberlady Scotland, and an Honorary Member of The Peruvian PGA
